THE 23RD BORNEO SAFARI INTERNATIONAL OFFROAD CHALLENGE

XTREME TRUS MADI – Adventure in the Highlands!

South East Asia’s biggest extreme offroading event with over 500 participants and 200 vehicles convoy in 2012 is back with another exciting year promising more fun and adventure for participants. The Sabah Four Wheel Drive Association has successfully raise the awareness among the 4WD enthusiasts in this region to bring Borneo Safari International Offroad Challenge into the global network of offroad and adventure events and most importantly to promote Sabah as a PREMIER NATURE & ADVENTURE TOURISM DESTINATION in Asia. 

The theme for this year is XTREME TRUS MADI – Adventure in the Highlands! 

The convoy this year will spend 8 days conquering the extreme highland terrains of the Trus Madi Forest Reserve, located 70 Kms away from Kota Kinabalu City and is bordered by three districts—Ranau up North, Tambunan on the West, Keningau down South, and Sook in the East. The forest reserve is classified as a Class 1 Forest Reserve and it covers 184, 527 hectares of land. Standing within the reserve at 2, 642 meters (8, 668 feet) tall, Mount Trus Madi is the second highest mountain in Sabah and Malaysia after Mount Kinabalu but offer a tougher challenge for adventure seekers compared to Mount Kinabalu. 

Borneo Safari comprises of 2 categories, the Competition and the Expedition Category. Competition category is opened to challenge vehicles where competitors will need to compete in 20 extreme Special Stages with more than RM100,000* of prizes to win! The Expedition category is for adventure seekers with or without own vehicles who wishes to experience 4WD adventure and nature. 

Registration fees for competitors ranges from RM800 for SFWDA members, RM1,600 for non members and RM5,000 for corporate entries. Registration Fees for Expedition Category with vehicles starts from RM800 per vehicle and without vehicles from RM3,000 per person for 8 days. Registration will open on May 1st and closes October 15th 2013. Due to the nature of the track this year, we are limiting the number of participants so do sign up early to book your space.
